3DNotifications: Jailbreak tweak brings Peek and Pop functionality to Notifications

The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus come with Peek and Pop functionality that allow users to preview different types of content with 3D Touch and tap harder to fully access them. Jailbreak tweaks have been taking advantage of 3D Touch to offer new features and one such tweak is 3DNotifications that recently debuted on Cydia.
The tweak brings Peek and Pop functionality to iOS notifications in Notification Center. You can tap lightly on a notification to take a look at its preview, which contains additional content relevant to the notification. If it has quick actions as well then you can swipe up the preview to access them or swipe to the left to clear the notification.
This feature is very useful and I believe that Apple should implement it in later iterations of iOS. Using 3D Touch for notifications means that you no longer need to open an app to view its additional content.
The tweak currently supports the following:
  • Messages notifications to peek into the conversation history
  • Calendar events to view more details corresponding to an event
  • Mail notifications to view the entire content of a mail
  • Missed phone and FaceTime calls to view additional details about them
  • Apple Pay Card to peek at the card info and transaction history
3DNotifications doesn’t require any additional configuration to get started. Once you’ve installed it, simply launch Notification Center and perform 3D Touch on the supported notifications to take a glance at their preview. Currently, the tweak supports iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus only so if you own an older device then you’re out of luck.
3DNotifications is available for $1.50 on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and is definitely worth the try. Let us know what you think about the tweak in the comments section below.
